Does it not seem that not too long ago that we were still able to walk through a park or along the beachfront without being concerned for our safety? Unfortunately this is no longer the case. Over the past few decades the world that we live in has become an exceedingly dangerous place. Words like violent mugging and domestic violence have become household terms.
The thing we need to face is that we reside in a perilous and dangerous society. Mentioning this danger is not meant to scare you, but we must be aware of the world we live in in order that we can furnish ourselves with the necessary protection from it.
Lots of folks think that self-defense is only a karate kick to the crotch or a stab in the eye of your assailants. But it is first and foremost doing anything in your ability to avoid fighting somebody who assaults you, you have to try and use your brain and not your fists.
When you make threats to fight back in self-defense you may be at risk to making the your position worse. An assailant who is already overstrung and pumped with adrenaline may become more violent and outraged. The best self-defense is to not be there at all and the second best is to get away. Physical exchange your attacker should be your very last resort.
If this takes place the main thing you have to bear in mind is that self-defense is learning on how to more effectively protect yourself. It is not about being able to yell loudly, although this does have its place, it is about defending yourself. And this may come down to knowing how to throw off a person who is both a bigger size and more muscular than yourself. You have to be hands-on and at ease being eye to eye with another human and giving them with everything you've got.
Physical self-defense consists of 3 major parts: techniques, training techniques and plans to execute them. Self-defense techniques can consist of strikes to the supersensitive zones of the human body like the nose, eyes and groin. The proper training methods are how you get taught to put into practise the techniques you have learnt. Strategies are your plan: if you know all the techniques and how to use them, but have no plan of attack your efforts will fall short and go wrong.
Being effective at defending yourself, or another person , means that you always have to be aware of your surroundings and prepared, you should entertain all potential scenarios so that your brain and body will have the ability to respond instantly if they ever do transpire. This does not mean that you're being overly suspicious. When you know how to defend yourself, other individuals can pick it up , you will become less of a target merely because of the self-confident way you carry yourself.
In the real world an attack can occur at anytime, and the most important aspect of self-defense is your ability to rely upon your instincts. You really should constantly bear in mind that your intuition, combined with common sense may enable you to avoid potential trouble.
