Having A Plan Of Action Can Help You Create Goals



It's possible that you did not create a specific plan of action to accomplish those goals which is why if you have ever set goals before, you may have failed to achieve them.

Many people would often overlook the other part which is creating a plan even though they take the time to set goals which is only part of process of goal setting.

Without a plan your goals remain incomplete. It's like having a destination but without a map. Where you want to go in life is what your goals tell you and your plans will tell you how you will get there.

A goal plan is simply a list of scheduled activities that you will do sometime in the future. Included in these are activities done in a series of days, weeks, months, or years but it would depend on the type of goal you set for yourself.

Your plan does not have to be completed perfectly the first time. When it comes to your first attempt at creating a goal plan, you will find that it will be vague and incomplete. This is okay so don't worry. It's important for plans to be flexible because as you move towards completing your primary goal, they are likely to be constantly updated.

In your plan you should therefore create a series of steps, you think you need in order to accomplish that goal. Try to think of it like baking a cake. Although your ultimate goal is to bake a cake and eat it, your plan would involve the ingredients as well as the things that you would do with those ingredients. Once you complete the plan, you complete your goal.

Frequently overlooked is creating a goal plan and a lot of people discipline themselves to write their goals everyday but create no plan. Before you can create a plan that will tell you how to get to your goals, first you need to make sure that you take the time to decide where you want to go.

To help clarify in your mind exactly what you want to achieve, it is also a good idea to use visualization in addition to your goal plan. This can simply involve thinking about your goals, and imaging them as completed when you go to bed. Before you go to sleep, you can do this for about 10 minutes or longer if you want and you will be surprised at the difference it could make in achieving your goals. Visualization provides easy access to the subconscious mind and this is one of the main reasons why it's so effective before sleep. Thereby allowing you to program your goals into your mind, increasing the likelihood you will accomplish them.
